RATES AND RESERVATIONS

We offer a few different options at the camp so please take a moment to read thought the information below.

“Full-board option”

  • Peak season rate from 1 July '08 to 30 October '08
    All-inclusive package - $180 per person per night (single supp extra $50 per night)

  • Green season rate from 1 January '08 to 30 June '08  &  1 November '08 to 1 December 2008
    $150 per person per night (single supp extra $20 per night)

Includes 

  • Accommodation in en-suite chalets OR en-suite tents – please request which option you would like

  • All drives and walks  (walks from June to October)

  • Airport transfers

  • All meals – breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and a three course dinner

  • Excludes – bar and park entry fees

Suggested Itinerary:

  • An early wake up call and light breakfast before heading into the park for a morning walk or drive

  • A relaxed brunch in camp and time for a siesta or swim before meeting for afternoon tea

  • The night drive leaves camp around 4pm, and the powerful spotlights will reveal many of Luangwa’s nocturnal secrets.

  • A three course dinner will be awaiting your arrival back in camp and a chance to discuss the day and relax around the campfire before retiring to your chalet.


“The Bush-Camp and overnight walking safari”

$180 per person per night (June to October) (single supp $50 extra per night)

 
  • An early rise with light breakfast before leaving with your guide and armed scout for a walk on our peninsular. Here you have the chance of seeing elephant, giraffe, numerous small antelope, many birds and maybe even a lion or two.

  • On arrival at our secluded camp, you will have brunch under the natal mahoganies and have time to relax and watch the hippo.

  • Afternoon tea sees the start of the afternoon walk where once again you will return to the camp for sundowners on the riverbank. 

  • Dinner is cooked over an open fire while the guides will keep you enthralled with stories and legends of the bush and life in Zambia.

  • Early morning coffee will be boiling on the fire as you awake to the morning sounds.  Breakfast in camp and then a walking safari back to the main camp.

  • The camp – rustic with no electricity, four 3mx3m dome tents, bush shower and toilet, camp beds and one of the best sites in the valley.

  • Includes all meals, airport transfers, accommodation and activities and excludes bar and park entry fees (only needed if we do a night drive from here into the National Park)

  • The camp can be a one or two night option and runs from June to October

 


“ACCOMODATION ONLY”

You can book accommodation only and then are very welcome to book activities, order meals
and basically plan your safari on a day-to-day basis.

·         Chalets only: Peak season from 1 July '08 to 31 October '08

  • $50 per person per night sharing

  • $70 for single occupancy

  • Children from 2-11 sharing with parents – $25

  • Children under 2 sharing with parents – no charge

 

·         Chalet only: green season from  1 January '08 to 30 June '08   &   1 November '08  - 31 December '08

  • $40 per person per night sharing

  • $50 for single occupancy

  • Children from 2-11 sharing with parents – $20

  • Children under 2 sharing with parents – no charge


   Tented camp (en-suite safari tent): peak season from 1 July to 31 October

  • $35 per person per night sharing

  • $45 for single occupancy

  • Children from 2-11 sharing with parents – $17.50

  • Children under 2 sharing with parents – no charge

 

·         Tented camp (en-suite safari tent): green season from 1 January '08 to 30 June '08   &   1 November '08  - 31 December '08

  • $25 per person per night sharing

  • $30 for single occupancy

  • Children from 2-11 sharing with parents – $17.50

  • Children under 2 sharing with parents – no charge

Notes

  • Chalets and tents – all our chalets and tents have en-suite bathrooms and toilets.

  • We provide all bedding and towels. Chalets are serviced daily.

  • Chalets – all have between 2 and 4 beds. Extra beds can be arranged for children sharing with parents

  • Tents – each tent has a twin bed.

Self catering – there are self catering kitchens at both the “barefoot” camp and at the chalets. The use of these is included in the above rates and the kitchens are equipped with the basic utensils, plates etc.  Guests are very welcome to order any meals from our restaurant.

Cook – if you would like a cook to prepare meals for you this is at a cost of $15 per chalet/tent per day and please book this at least 24 hours in advance.


 

Camping – peak season from 1 July to 31 October

  • $10 per person per night – children under 12 receive a 50% discount.
     

Camping – green season from 1 January '08 to 30 June '08  &  1 November to 31 December '08

  • $7.5 per person per night – children under 12 receive a 50% discount

 


“ACTIVITIES AND THINGS TO DO”

Our qualified guides lead all our activities

  • Walking safaris - $40 per person (min 3 people or charge of $150)
    These take place from June to November.  Each walk is lead by our grade one guide and also an armed scout provided by National Parks.  Includes morning tea/coffee.
    (Sorry – no children under 12)

  • Walking safari on the wildlife society property - $40 per person There are no fences between us and the national park and the advantage of this walk is that park fees are not required.

  • Game Drives - $40 per person (min 3 people or charge of $120) Children under 12 are half rate ll drives use open safari vehicles and take place within the National Park.

  • Morning drives The drives are from 6 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and include morning tea/coffee.

  • Night drives From 4 p.m. to 8.15 p.m. and include sundowners.

  • Village and school tour - $20 per person

  • Village and Tribal textiles tour - $25 per person

  • Airport transfers - $20 per person - minimum charge of $40

 


“PLEASE NOTE THAT PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND ARE ONLY CONFIRMED BY PRE-PAYMENT

 

Payment method

Whilst staying with us, we operate a tab system for all our guests so that you may pay in one payment at the end of your stay for all accommodation, game activities, bar, food and any other costs incurred.

 Payment can be made in cash in Zambian Kwacha, US$ or Pounds sterling. 

We do accept travellers’ cheques and major credit cards, but please note there is a commission charge of 5% for this service.

 If you are booking through one of our agents, they will arrange payment on your behalf and you will be given a payment voucher to present to our reception on your arrival.
