The
Campsite
~ Campers and independent travellers
Set
away from the main lodge in a prime position on the banks of the Luangwa
River is the Wildlife Campsite.
WARTHOGS BAR
We undoubtedly have one of the best
views in the valley for watching the sunset across the Luangwa River, so
please join us for a sun-downer at the recently renovated Warthogs bar
and appreciate the true beauty of Zambia.

Each night as the sun sets the hippos make their way
slowly ashore, so you can start your game viewing
from the comfort of the bar! Warthogs offers
comfortable chill-out areas in the bar, darts and
also some relaxing tunes to unwind too.
The camping area is
stretched along the banks of the river and the only
way to describe it is “stunning”. At night time
visitors to the campsite include elephants, hippos,
lions, and the occasional hyena. The resident
leopard does let you hear when he is around, but is
not keen on being seen.
The camp is complete with grassy areas, shady trees, ablution blocks
with hot showers, thatched shelters for big groups, power points,
swimming pool, darts and bar for refreshing drinks after a long days’
drive.

Guests staying at the campsite are
more than welcome to order their meals from our excellent kitchen in the
main restaurant, located a few minutes drive from the campsite.
All meals are prepared from local produce and we offer a menu to suit
all tastes. In the evening and early mornings we can supply transport to
and from the restaurant.
BACKPACKERS
INFORMATION
The local bus network between Lusaka and
Chipata is very good. If you take
the early bus from Lusaka, you can make it here in one day. When you
arrive in Chipata ask at the station for the transport to Mfuwe - you
can either get the "Canter trucks" or hire a taxi. For a small
additional fee, the trucks will bring you to camp.
The trucks operate daily to the valley
and leave here to return to Chipata in the early hours of the morning.
Once here, our friendly staff can advise you on the various options for
your onward journey. That is, if you ever want to leave.
